 JRMSU with other 17 private and public agencies, partners DOLE in 3Y program

 

As one of the partner agencies of the Department of Labor and Employment in the implementation of One Locality, One Industry, One Service Quality (3Y) Program, Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) spearheaded the 3-year strategic planning 2011-2014 as blueprint for socio-economic and political growth of the locality with the chairman DOLE Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom, held at Dapitan City Resort Hotel on March 24-25, 2011. The program has the goals of (1) developing the community and its tourism industry through collaborative/partnership of stakeholders, local businesses and people; (2) improving the service delivery of different sectors through continuous skills development program and cost efficiency strategy; (3) preparing the human resource to be more competitive and employable; (4) developing the Service Quality (SQ) for the Hotel and Restaurant Industry as a strategic management tool; and (5) expanding the implementation of the Service Quality Program to the business chain. The program has started its implementation in Dapitan City using a convergence and partnership approach among public and private agencies, namely: NWPC, DOT, LGU Dapitan, DDPKaRoMa, LGSP-LED, DILG, DTI, DOST, TESDA, PNP PAL, CAAP, Phil. Nat’l Red Cross, PCBSI, PPA, and Fantasy Land Travel and Tours.

 

As partner, JRMSU also facilitated the conduct of One Service Quality Orientation Seminars making the stakeholders aware on the importance of quality service delivery in the promotion of local community tourism and employment and how to apply it on their respective duties. These were conducted on April 18-19, 2011 among the seaport porters of Dapitan City and airport porters of Dipolog City; April 18-20, 2011 among tourist guides of Dapitan City; April 25, 2011 among tricycle drivers, “habal-habal” drivers and bus operators of Dapitan City, and on April 25-26, 2011 among Tourist Police and Marshalls of Dapitan City. To further enhance the training to be given to the stakeholders, Trainers of Trainers (TOT) Program on Experiential Techniques was conducted to train future trainers of the program with the international speaker/trainer, Mr. Rene S. Resurreccion, Director of Passion for Perfection held at Bajamunde Farms Pension, Dapitan City on July 26-29, 2011. Indeed, the training ended with full of experiential learning for the future trainers to be more competitive.
 

JRMSU with DDPKaRoMa, LGSP-LED, DOLE, DILG, TESDA holds Livelihood Training in Burgos, Dapitan City

 

Jose Rizal Memorial State University with DDPKaRoMa, LGSP-LED, DOLE and DILG conducted the Livelihood Training among women in Burgos, Dapitan City on April 27-29, 2011. The program introduced the skills in delivering quality services to sustain customers’ satisfaction and lectured on how to become successful entrepreneur. The participants were also oriented on the proper product processing and handling skills. The program was part of the institution’s objective together with its partner agencies in bringing the programs and technical support to the community for economic development.
 

DOLE trusts JRMSU to spearhead the 3-year Strategic Plan and become a partner in its new project, the Kurambos

 

Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) spearheaded the 3- year Strategic Planning for Kurambos Project of the Department of Labor and Employment with its craftsman, Region IX Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom. La Libertad, one of the poorest municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte, is the first beneficiary of the project which would serve as an avenue in enlightening and transforming the local governance together with its constituents to work proactively and collectively towards poverty reduction. The project is also a strategy, holistic approach and advocacy for a stronger partnership and collaboration between and among agencies from Educational Institutions (HEIs, TESDA & DepEd), Provincial Offices, NGAs, Office of the First Congressional District of ZaNorte, POs and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) by counterparting resources towards the goal to effect positive change of having a vibrant community and improved economy.
The 3-year Strategic Planning was conducted at Bajamunde Farm Pension on September 28-29, 2011. The plan was centered on the development of potential opportunities of La Libertad in public and safety; agriculture, environment and natural resources; social services/education, welfare, health and nutrition; tourism, trade, industry, labor, employment and manpower development; and infrastructure, transportation and communication.
