JRMSU –Main ROTC Unit undergoes tactical inspection
Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) –Dapitan Reserved Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit underwent the Regional ROTC Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RRAATI) at JRMSU Sports Complex last February 7, 2015, 1:00 in the afternoon.
The RRAATI team spearheaded by Col. Rex C.Palma, CAV (GSC)of the Philippine Army,scrutinized the University ROTC Unit’s operating functions such as the theoretical knowledge of the cadets and cadettes, the disaster emergency relief and rescue training, the Military Courtesy and Discipline (MCD), map reading, Operations Order (OPORD) writing,inspection in rank, company drill, field stripping, sealing, formation of troopsand small leadership unit tactics.
“We expect the Army ROTC to be a good training ground of responsible leaders who are equipped not only with the competencies needed in war but more importantly with the knowledge, skills, abilities and values needed in the promotion and preservation of peace and security,” Dr. Evelyn R. Campiseño, Vice President for Research, Extension and Development (VPRED), mentioned as she gave her inspirational message.
Moreover, the turn-over of the corps of cadets by Maj. Aguido E. Magtuba Jr. (RES) PA to Col. CasimeroRoyme D.Tamparong GSC PA, chairman of RRAATI team (INF) signaled the start of the inspection.
The formal ceremony commenced with a ceremonial parade by the ROTC students and training committee, followed by inspection in rank, company drill, field stripping, sealing, formation of troops, and finally, the turn-over of the corps back to the commandant by the RRAATI chairman (INF).
Futhermore, theoretical examination, MCD, and OPORD writing were simultaneously performed in separate grandstand rooms.
“Indeed, this is a reflection of one’s commitment to be of service to our country and people when they are called upon and when their services are needed,” said Dr. Aida O. Lanioso, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA).
The result of the said inspection which was also a regional competition among colleges and universities in the entireZamboanga Peninsula will be announced on March 22, 2015.
