Seniors coach Juniors in journalism tilt; JRMSU-Main scribes haul awards
Who says that only professional teachers can coach in journalism contest and produce champions?
This was proven wrong by the Senior High School students of Jose Rizal Memorial State University who acted as coaches during the two-day Journalism Competitions held in Dapitan City National High School on July 30 – 31, 2016.
Seniors – Adrian M. Recapente, Mary Amethyst A. Patula, Ester Mae L. Boligao, Maricon E. Bobiles, Jan Louie A. Potoy, and Kris Angela Ondac, produced winners in the following categories: Sports Writing, Copyreading Headline Writing, Layouting and Radio Broadcasting.
Christine Colata was hailed first placer in Copyreading and Headline Writing (Filipino) and second in Sports Writing (Filipino).
Ellah Jasmine Obordo, Hazel Jumuad, Jean Lyka Potoy, Chrisnine Colata, Christine Colata, Mariah Paula Boligao, Aivan Rey Pasencia, Ebon Kaye Tan, Jovit Rio, June Ann Rosal and Milea Gionette were hailed champions in Page Layouting (Filipino); while, Erika Marie Columnas, Faith Hanna Patula, Allyah Faith Antillon, Vinyet Raquel Lasco, Cynwyst Elumbaring, Miggi Ashley Malana, Jacinth Claire Cuevas, Christy Recapente, and Dariel Kyle Jaralve were hailed second in English.
Cristy Recapente was proclaimed Best Anchor, while, Hazel Jumuad, Miggy Ashley Malana and Ellah Jasmine Obordo were garnered second place in Best Informercial.
