Daylinda Luz R. Laput takes center stage as a plenary speaker during LSPIC2020
The pride of JRMSU—none other than its President, Dr. Daylin Laput, takes center stage during LSPIC2020 as a Plenary Speaker on March 5-7 at the Dakak Park and Beach Resort, Dapitan City.. In her talk, Dr. Laput discuss how Binol-anon, a variety that “has not been facing extinction” exhibits some sort of “phonological prominence”— caused mainly by substitution and deletion. Her investigation also extends to the language attitude of the speakers, highlighting their unfavorable stance on many expressions that are uniquely Binol-anon. Such view makes language maintenance more difficult and language shift a much more convenient choice for many speakers of Binol-anon.
