JRMSU takes the lead in the fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic

JRMSU key officials headed by the university President, Dr. Daylinda Luz R. Laput  participated an Inter-Agency Meeting of the Dapitan City Peace and Order Council responding to COVID-19 challenges (March 16, 2020).

2Dr. Daylinda Luz R. Laput gave the go signal to the FabLab staff headed by Mr. Andrew Gallemit to fabricate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) yesterday to be used by the first responders combating the spread of COViD – 19. The directive came after the CDRRM requested the University’s DRRM’s help to look for solutions concerning the lack of PPEs.  Fourteen (14) units of PPEs were manufactured overnight by the FabLab staff who worked overtime using the FabLab’s equipment and extra materials from the accreditation activities. The FabLab crew is expected to produce more of the PPEs in the coming days (March 20, 2020).

 

 

 

NEWS ROUND UP

Responding to Memorandum Order No. 115, Series of 2020 released by the Office of the University President, concerned offices implemented the following activities:

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs headed by OIC Dr. Alice Mae M. Arbon released an order cancelling all online engagements among faculty and students to ensure that advisories of both the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Office of the University President (OUP) are carried out;

The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs and Services headed by Dr. Jay D. Telen, in coordination with the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer headed by Dr. Marissa M. Recapente, mobilized all University vehicles and drivers to conduct all Ilustrados to their respective homes. Data are as follows: Main Campus – 39, Katipunan Campus – 16, Siocon Campus – 8, a total of 63 students all within Zamboanga del Norte were taken to their hometowns. Those students in Dipolog campus will be conducted by its school bus to be brought home also in the morning;

The Office of the Inconomics headed by Dr. Wilfredo D. Carreon Jr. distributed 150 packed meals to all frontliners and responders on duty at different points of the city;

The Finance Management Office headed by Atty. Nizza Lesterio-Absin successfully processed wages for JOs and COs; and

Students with border restrictions are advised to stay in their boarding houses and the Office of the DSAS is trying to raise donations for food provisions and hygiene kits for the students (March 21, 2020).

3Engr. Andrew Gallemit, FabLab head along with his staff handed over a total of 143 pieces of face shields to the University Disaster and Risk Reduction Management (UDRRM) which were eventually distributed to frontliners stationed in different points in Zamboanga del Norte on March 21 and 22. Together with the UDRRM, the face shields were distributed to the following frontliner stations namely; Larayan checkpoint (48 pcs), Ilaya checkpoint (22 pcs), Dr Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital (20 pcs), City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Committee (10 pcs), Sicayab Boundary checkpoint (10 pcs), Polanco Health Center (14 pcs), and Punta checkpoint (19 pcs) (March 22, 2020). The Office of the Inconomic Enterprise Services (IES) headed by Dr. Wilfredo Carreon Jr. distributed 150 packed meals while the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (DSAS) headed by its dean, Dr. Jay Telen, provided food packs and hygiene kits last Friday as the University stepped up its drive to help in the government’s efforts in curbing CoViD19. The IES distributed the packed meals to front liners stationed in Dapitan City and Katipunan while the DSAS gave away the food packs and hygiene kits to students left in their boarding houses due to the quarantine restrictions implemented by city and provincial Executive Orders (March 23, 2020).

JRMSU community gives out groceries and 5 kilos of rice to the most vulnerable members of our community, the Job Orders and Contract of Service employees.
The Office of the Inconomic Enterprise Services (IES), Finance Management Office (FMO), Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) and Main Campus Administrator, Dr. Marvin Recapante, together with Ilustrado volunteers distributed food bags containing canned goods and rice to Job Order workers and Contract of Service employees in the University.

5The same efforts have also been initiated by Ilustrados of the external campuses headed by respective administrators: Dr. Leonardo Zamoras, Dipolog Campus, Dr. Carina Romarate, Katipunan Campus, Dr. Josephine Subong, Tampilisan Campus, and Dr. Chona Torrefranca, Siocon Campus (April 2, 2020).

JRMSU –  Tampilisan Campus embarks on a mission led by its Campus Administrator, Dr. Josephine Subong as they distribute 300 packed lunch to quarantine outposts and also some 300 packs of relief goods to the rubber tappers and job order employees of JRMSU-Tampilisan. Mr. Rovelito Narita, the OIC Administrative Officer said that, “It’s a five-day packed meal provision to frontline workers of the rural health unit, duty officers and volunteers of the disaster risk reduction and management unit specifically serving barangays Znac, Camul, Galingon, Banbanan, Situbo, Farmington, and Poblacion starting April 01 up to April 08.” (April 2, 2020).

JRMSU FabLab-Dapitan headed by Engr. Andrew Gallemit, together with the university offcicials, personally turned-over the Automated Mist Disinfection Chamber to Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital (April 2, 2020). 8The Department of Trade and Industry donated MDF Board and PVC to the JRMSU- FabLab (April 3, 2020).

 

9JRMSU -Dapitan received cash donation form the Rizal Memorial National Vocational School Batch 1986 to sustain fabrication efforts for CoVid 19. Present during the undertaking were Judge Jose Rene Gallemit Dondoyano and Dr. Ma Liza Tabilon, Schools Division Superintendent  and Ms. MiMie Cuesta (April 4, 2020).
