Message of the Dean


Welcome to the JRMSU College of Engineering Website.


Established in 1999, the college of engineering humbly started with only one engineering course.  Due to the ever-growing clamor for more engineering courses, JRMSU offered three more bringing the total to four, namely, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Communications Engineering.


Envisioned to provide the poor but deserving students of Zamboanga del Norte and nearby provinces with affordable but qualityeducation, we are making our presence felt in this part of Western Mindanao.   The result of the past board examinations is the only proof to this claim for we consistently surpass the national passing rate.  The tracer study of the University reveals that our graduates have the highest employability rate in the locality.

Goals of the College

The college of engineering aims to provide quality education along instruction, research and extension designed to equip the students with sufficient knowledge and skills for them to become dynamic partners in nation building.


General Objectives

 To produce graduates equipped with adequate knowledge in mathematics and sciences needed by them to handily gain the experience and practical skills required as professional engineers.


Specific Objective

To educate the on their careers as engineers and enable them to fully utilize their inherent potentials for the advancement of the country and to give them employment advantage as well.

Courses Offered

BS in Electrical Engineering– The field of Electrical Engineering deals with the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electricity.  It also deals with the design, operation and protection, maintenance and economics of electrical systems with emphasis on ethical values to harness economically and safely the materials, and forces of nature for the benefit of society and the environment.


BS in Civil Engineering –  Civil Engineering is a profession that applies the basic principles of Science in conjunction with mathematical and computational tools to solve problems associated with developing and sustaining civilized life on our planet. It is one of the broadest engineering disciplines both in terms of the range of problems that fall within its preview and in the range of knowledge required to solve those problems. Civil Engineering works are generally one-of-a-kind projects; they are often grand in scale; and they usually require cooperation among professionals of many different disciplines. The completion of a civil engineering project involves the solution of technical problems in which information from numerous sources and myriad non-technical factors play a significant role. Some of the most common examples of civil engineering works include bridges, buildings, dams, airports, ports and harbors, highways, tunnels, towers and water distribution systems. Civil Engineers are concerned with flood controls, landslide, air and water pollution, and the design of facilities to withstand earthquakes and other natural hazards.


BS in Electronics and Communication Engineering – Electronics Engineering is a brance of engineering that integrates available and emerging technologies with knowledge of mathematics, natural, social and applied sciences to conceptualize, design, and implement new, improved, or innovative electronic, computer and communication systems, devices, goods, services and processes.


BS in Computer Engineering – Computer Engineering is a profession that applies engineering principles and methodologies in the analysis, design, implementation and management of hardware, software and the integration of both.
