International Travels New Norm

Note: For faculty, researchers and graduate students’ travel to attend professional or educational conferences are defined “non-essential”; however, one may pursue alternative modes to be able to attend such events without leaving the safety of the university.(csuchico.edu)
- When international travel is considered essential, a medical /health certificate issued by competent medical authorities must be submitted to this office within 48 hrs preceding employee, faculty /student’s departure and after the prescribed quarantine period has been observed upon his/her arrival or entry.
Note: A. Faculty, researchers, graduate students: Essential travel is defined as travel that is required to
- preserve the safety of a research subject and cannot be postponed; or
- preserve the results of a research activity and cannot be postponed.
- Employees seeking approval to engage in essential travel, should confer with their immediate supervisor, and the latter may make a final recommendation to the University President for approval.
- Staff travel is considered essential when accompanying students on approved essential travel or when not travelling will cause harm to the operations of the university.
- Student essential travel is defined as travel for academic credit that is necessary to meet a
- graduation requirement, cannot be achieved through an alternative assignment, or when cannot be postponed.
