Fulfilling JRMSU’s commitment to providing an unparalleled learning environment that meets the demands of the 21st century, Jose Rizal Memorial State University commenced its JRMSU Systemwide Strategic Planning (JSSP) at Villa Pablea Mountain Resort, Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte on September 25, 2024.
Bearing the theme: Charting the Future: Transforming JRMSU into a Smart UniverCity, the three-day event focused on proposed revisions that align with the University’s commitment to developing a Smart UniverCity, emphasizing the institution’s aspiration to be responsive to the evolving needs of the institution by incorporating innovative technologies and methodologies in creating a vibrant community.
In her welcoming message, Dr. Rizza B. Bagalanon, the Vice President for Research, Extension and Development, stressed out the importance of this initiative as an avenue of change towards excellence.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, the world is evolving at unprecedented phase and to remain relevant and competitive, we must adopt and innovate. This strategic planning initiative is a testament to our commitment to progress. it is an opportunity for us to collectively envision a future where JRMSU is not only a leading academic institution but also a catalyst for positive change in our region and beyond.” said Dr. Bagalanon.
University officials, and stakeholders engaged in collaborative discussions and workshops, highlighting the importance of incorporating changes as a leverage to develop a holistic, modern academic ecosystem that supports enhanced learning experiences, streamlined administration, and a vibrant community for students, faculty, and staff.
This JRMSU Systemwide Strategic Planning is fully supported by the ever dynamic University President, Dr. Maria Rio Abdon Naguit, as well as industry partners from the Department of Trade and Industry-Dipolog City represented by Ms. Raymunda B. Biolango; the Department of Environment and Natural Resources represented by Ms. Nesse Cyringe P. Singson; the Department of Information and Communications Technology-Zamboanga del Norte represented by Engr. Salachel M. Tangapa; and the Department of Labor and Employment-Zamboanga del Norte Field Office represented by Mr. Alvin L. Arat.
