POLISHING PROCUREMENTS
JRMSU-BAC conducts training with GPPB
In collaboration with the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB), the JRMSU Procurement Unit, headed by Mr. Jorge Denard Malazarte, successfully conducted the three-day training on Republic Act 9184, or the Government Procurement Reform Act, and its 2016 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations at the Audio-Visual Room, CNAHS, JRMSU Dapitan Campus, from November 13-15, 2024.
This event aims to ensure that all government employees involved in procurement are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the legal framework governing the government procurement system.
JRMSU is extremely fortunate to have accredited trainers from the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB): the distinguished Ms. Adolfa A. Creayla, CPA, and Atty. Jules Christian D. Marcos, to share their expertise and to empower relevant university constituents in navigating the complexities of procurement with greater clarity.
Atty. Nizza Lesterio Absin, Vice President for Finance and BAC Chairperson, underscored the significance of this event as she articulated, “This training plays a crucial role in ensuring that our procurement processes are aligned with the standards of transparency, accountability, and efficiency—values that lie at the heart of public service. […] This training is an opportunity for us to equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills to handle these various challenges with confidence and precision. “
Atty. Lino P. Viadnes, the BAC Vice Chairperson, expressed his gratitude for the active involvement of the participants and recognized the valuable effort of the event organizers and the working committee behind this important event that brought together representatives from the different offices and end users across the five (5) JRMSU campuses.
On behalf of the eager participants of this training, Atty. Lesterio-Absin extended an enthusiastic appreciation for the strong support of the administration, headed by the University president, Dr. Maria Rio Abdon Naguit, and for recognizing the relevance of this training to the improvement of the JRMSU’s innovative procurement processes and solutions.
