JRMSU goes Google

In order to provide effective application solutions and services to the academic community, Jose Rizal Memorial State University Management Information Systems Office and the College of Business and Administration conducted a series of trainings on Google Apps for Education last January 12-13, 2015 at the 4-in-1 Laboratory of the JRMSU – Main Campus.

The Google Apps for Education program helps educational institutions access digital platforms to transform learning opportunities through improved infrastructure, learning tools, and skills. Some of the Google applications that can be utilized by JRMSU are the Google Calendar which allows also an SMS notification to the community for certain events in the campus, Google Mail for webmail communication with the own @jrmsu.edu.ph email address extension and Google Classroom which allows the creation of online learning for students.

The Google Apps training was conducted by Mr. Marlo DS. Malobo of Singularity, a third party enabler of Google Philippines and was attended by student leaders, faculty members, office staff and MIS personnel.

Google Apps for Education have been widely-used within various colleges and universities in the entire country. The use of GoogleApps for Education is basically free of charge. – RZE

The members of the Management Information Systems (system-wide) were oriented on how to administer the Google Apps for Education platform to suit the needs of JRMSU.
