On-going & Funded Researches
JRMSU is on its third year as collaborator of Universitas Kristen Artha Wacana (UKAW), Kupang, Indonesia in the implementation of the research project entitled, “Ecology, Genetic and Restocking of Giant Clams: A Strategy of Strengthening Marine Conservation and Management of Marine Protected Areas around East Nusa Tenggara Province”. Another collaborative project being engaged in by JRMSU is the Sardine Dynamics with the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UPMSI) as the lead agency and three other collaborating universities: UP-Visayas and Mindanao State University-Naawan and MSU- IIT. Recently, JRMSU is one of the implementers of the Aquasilviculture project in Region 9. It is funded by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The project will run for three years with a total fund amounting to PhP 3.45 million. It aims to ensure resource sustainability, attain food security and alleviate poverty among Filipinos who are dependents on the country’s coastal resources.
